Former Amtrust International CEO joins CPU Group, Republic of Cyprus chosen as EU headquarters
CPU Group Ltd announced that Max Caviet (former CEO of Amtrust International Ltd) has also joined the firm to spearhead a range of innovative affinity and lifestyle products to bolster existing lines for electronic and mobile technology.
CPU founder, Gregory Gregoriou, said “I’m delighted to welcome Max to the Board, who brings considerable experience and expertise to up-scale the business ready for targeted, profitable growth”.
Max said “I’m hugely excited by this opportunity. CPU’s innovative Genie platform is already disrupting the tech insurance sector and can deliver innovative, niche-market insurance solutions with unparalleled functionality for all users – both at home and abroad. With bespoke navigation tools and a functional, intuitive design, Genie offers customers, brokers and insurers alike a fully digital, personalised experience 24/7 – and this is what the insurance market needs in today’s fast-moving, tech-driven environment.
Max went on to explain that “Genie is uniquely placed to support compliant, cost-effective distribution whilst serving the complex needs of the entire service chain. The system facilitates agile pricing, impeccable customer satisfaction and has ability to get new products to market at pace, without compromising on quality.” Max will be using Genie to service niche program business across a range of special risks and lifestyle products where he has decades of experience.
CPU’s regulated UK entity, Accuro Risk Management Ltd, will be arranging and distributing new products domestically. Leveraging Max’s previous international experience, CPU is also establishing Accuro Insurance Brokers EU Ltd

Greg confirms he is relocating (from London) to the Republic of Cyprus to head up the European expansion, explaining that Cypriot government policies for the high-tech sector were an important attraction when choosing an EU headquarters.
Cyprus is investing significant effort to create a forward-thinking high-tech economy and is
already racing up world rankings. This drives strong economic growth (up 12.8% in 2021 Q2). “Success like this is a real attraction”, said Greg.
“We look forward to establishing our Cyprus operations, further developing our Genie insurance sales and distribution platform.”
