The UK Cypriot Elvis Presley tribute artist George Michael Elias

The UK Cypriot tribute artist for Elvis Presley George Michael Elias tells us all about himself.

George was born in 1970 in Ilford and grew up in Leytonstone where his parents had a fish and chip shop.
George’s parents came to the UK in 1962, his father was from Kiti/Pervolia and mother from Larnaca.
George went to Tom Hood School in Leytonstone his love was music and joined the Diastello band and worked at Haringey Council and later at the age of 38 he did the knowledge and became a black cab driver.
In year 2003 he started the path of becoming a Elvis Presley tribute artist and went to the US to get made to measure Elvis suits from the original Elvis clothiers. And then went on to have his first show at Trios in Palmers Green.
From there he has been to perform in Memphis, Tennessee, and as far as Sydney in Australia.
George has also appeared in the BBC programme hosted by Vernon Kay , the world’s greatest Elvis.
Music runs in his family his father was a Psaltis and turned down a opportunity when he was approached by agents in Greece to turn to professional singing. And Georges brother was a drummer in a Funk band.

George Michael Elias will be appearing next week at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green
