Congratulations to UK Cypriot Nitsa Sergides on receiving Islington Award

Nitsa Sergides, receives Islington Award for her community leadership in Islington. Nitsa was a Headteacher and teacher in Islington for more than 50 years, established and ran St John’s Greek School for 20+ years, as a Trustee of St Anthony’s & St John the Baptist supporting the local foodbank.

Nitsa Sergides decided to enter the teaching profession after a stint as a nursery nurse at Pakeman Primary School in Hornsey Road, Holloway. She worked there for 19 years and then at nearby Grafton Primary School in Eburne Road, Holloway, for another 19 – all but two as its headteacher. Nitsa is from Linou in Cyprus
