CONGRATULATIONS to Elena Georgiou and below is a message from her.
“I knew climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was not going to be easy but nothing could have prepared me for the experience I had.
I shed tears of joy as well as tears of pain, I laughed with my belly and sang at the top of my lungs, I learnt to communicate in Swahili as well as through a smile or building a tower of rocks.
Each day surprised me with something new and I wouldn’t change a thing, I learnt so much, and pushed my self more than I knew I could.
I couldn’t have done it without my amazing family in England and my new family in Tanzania 🤍
The final walk to the summit started at midnight, it was freezing, it was dark, it was hard to breath and every step felt like a mission..
Every step I took I thought about the donations made to @butterflyavm, I thought about the love and support from home, and I thought about @nikkililly_ fighting AVM, and that’s what got me to the TOP.
So I DID IT, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and not only did we reach the target for @butterflyavm donations but we beat it so THANK YOU to every single person who donated, it wouldn’t have be possible without you.
FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD STILL LIKE TO DONATE the Just Giving page is still live.
You can donate HERE
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain on the African continent and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. The climb will take 9 days of blood, sweat and most definitely tears!
The only other thing I can say is that you can literally do anything you set your mind to and I hope this encourages others to take that leap and do that amazing thing you’ve always wanted to do, I’m almost certain you won’t regret it 🤍(and do it for an amazing cause)”
