The film that has recently made its way onto one of the biggest streaming platforms is Falling for Christmas. The Netflix original film introduces the lead part, Lindsay Lohan (playing the role of Sierra Belmont) – a spoilt, rich character who is in a relationship with a guy you already know is not quite the right match. That guy is her influencer boyfriend Tad Fairchild, played by George Young – a British actor, writer, and television presenter born to a Malaysian Chinese father and a Greek Cypriot mother.
His mountaintop marriage proposal ends in catastrophe, leaving Sierra without her memory but ripe for rescue by handsome, kind and sad lodge-owner Jake (Chord Overstreet).
George Young may be relatively unknown – but he’s definitely made his mark on both UK and Chinese primetime TV.
Born on February 29, 1980, and the eldest of four brothers, George began his career in entertainment in the United Kingdom, acting in BBC’s Casualty before moving on to his first feature film, Jhootha Hi Sahi.
He starred in the 2014 TV series Grace, appeared on Travel and Living Channel as a guest co-host alongside Janet Hsieh on the show Fun Taiwan after filming multiple TV advertisements in Taiwan and Thailand, as well as a music video with Ariel Lin.
His first big film break came just one year ago, in the horror film Malignant, which received good reviews on the whole.
George attended Winchester College and studied acting in New York before earning a psychology degree from the University of Southampton and a law degree from the University of Westminster and The College of Law.
He finished his solicitor traineeship in a City of London law business and is a fully qualified solicitor for the Supreme Court of England and Wales, but he left to follow his passion for acting.
George married television presenter Janet Hsieh in 2015 and they have two children.
