Islington is top in London for healthy streets

Islington is one of London’s best boroughs for healthy streets – and top for School Streets, which cut traffic at school gates – a city-wide report finds today.

It uses Ambler school in Finsbury Park as a sample.

Ambler school was the start point in education for many UK Cypriots in the 1950’s and 1960s.There was then a large Cypriot population in Finsbury Park.

Our Michael Yiakoumi and his siblings Doulla and Louis went there his cousins Louis (chair of 12 Apostles)Koulla and Eva Loizou and Louis, Katia and Vava Tsioupra and Vasoulla Constantinou.
Notable UK Cypriots who went there were TV celebrity and businessman Theo Paphitis and former head of football at Aston Villa Gary Karsa.
